Tooddles begins by talking to the audience revealing that not everything is as it seems. Donald and Pluto return from a quest and are confronted by toodles. Toodles claims that Donald will become the leader of the clubhouse then vanishes, Donald and Pluto are baffled by this. Toodles words start to twist in Donald’s head, his ambitions starting to make him wonder. After contemplating the news Donald sends a letter back to Daisy. After reading the letter she makes the exclamation that Donald is too cowardly to take the throne from Mickey in the easiest way, so she will help him. Donald returns and Daisy attempts to convince him to kill Mickey, it takes some time but eventually he agrees with hesitation. Mickey comes to the clubhouse with plans of leaving the next morning. Daisy decides to take advantage of this and make sure that Mickey will not live to see the next day. Donald begins to feel nervous about going through with killing Mickey, wondering if it truly will be worth it. Daisy is offended by this, by the fact that he would go back on his word, by the fact that this is all they ever wanted, by the audacity that Daisy would easily kill a smiling child for Donald if she said she would, yet now he's going back on his word and Donald is threatening to throw it all away. So after briefly arguing she reassures him that they will not fail and this is what needs to be done. Donald eventually agrees to kill Mickey, to kill his friend, to let his ambition take control and fall into toodles trap.
